Christmas dinner...

After everyone left our house we cleaned up a bit and then tried to relax. Well...Mommy didn't relax because she was working on the 2nd part of your Christmas present for Emmawyn.
We headed over to Grandma's around 2 PM, so we could spend the rest of the day over there. You got to spend more time with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Renee, and Dylan. Lisa, Otto, & Emmawyn were there, as well as Dana, George, Sophie, & Ben. It was nice to spend the day with friends and family!

You, Lisa, & E playing with the doll Grandma got you...

Santa Claus is coming to town...

Well sweetie, your 1st Christmas has come and gone. It's sad how fast things fly by :( I wish I could have stretched the day out and made it a few more hours. We had such a great time with you!

On Christmas Eve your Auntie Nea Nea and Dylan spent the night. After you woke up the 2nd time Christmas morning Auntie went in and saved you :)
Mackenzie 143 by you.

We went and checked out the tree to see what Santa brought you...

And once Grandma and Grandpa showed up we started opening presents! You weren't quite sure what all the commotion was about, but you enjoyed tearing/eating the wrapping paper.
Mackenzie 152 by you.

Auntie Brandy got you this adorable giraffe. It is so soft and floppy and I know you're going to spend many years with it!
Mackenzie 148 by you.

A rare picture of you, Mommy, & Daddy! I'm usually the one taking the pictures!!
Mackenzie 155 by you.

I think this was your favorite toy of the day! Who would have known a set of fake keys would appease you so much. Good job Auntie Nea Nea!

This picture just makes me laugh! Grandma and Grandpa found a Longhorn bag for Daddy that plays the alma matter song. Daddy LOVES that song because he made up a song for you that's modeled after it :) So...he sang it to you that morning and you just giggled and giggled.
Mackenzie 160 by you.

Here are Daddy's lyrics:

The eyes of Daddy are upon you,
All the live long day.
The eyes of Daddy are upon you,
You can not get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
At night, or early in the morn'.
The eyes of Daddy are upon you,
Till Mommy blows her horn!

You had no interest in looking at the camera (you couldn't take your eyes off of all your presents! haha!), but here you are with Grandma & Grandpa...
Mackenzie 201 by you.

And I tried to find a picture that shows off your hilarious PJ's. The saying couldn't be more true. Well...I guess the only thing that would make it better is if it said Grandma and Grandpa.

"What Santa Doesn't Bring Me Grandma Will"

You got some building blocks from Santa, so Daddy decided to build you a jail. It didn't quite contain you though. You're quite the destructive little kiddo :)

We had a great Christmas morning with you baby girl! Having you hear for Christmas brought a whole new meaning to it! We love you bunches and can't wait to celebrate many more Christmas mornings with you!

Off to Mimi's house...

Aunt Jo Ann and Uncle Walt are visiting from Alabama. They're going home on Christmas morning, so we celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. It was nice for you to meet more family from your Dad's side. He has such a small family, so it's important you meet them all :) You really liked your Uncle Walt. You loved to keep an eye on him when he was walking around. It was really cute.
You haven't seen Aunt Jo Ann since you were a couple months old, so it was nice for her to see you since you've grown so much!

You and Aunt Jo Ann

This was a gift to your Mimi from Aunt Jo Ann's in laws. It will be for Mimi to have at her house for you to play with when you visit.
Mackenzie 095 by you.

Uncle Don bought you a book about poop. He read you the entire story and you actually let him finish. Quite a surprise for you!
Mackenzie 101 by you.

Uncle Walt & Aunt Jo Ann got you some fun toys and you totally love them. This one moves around and you think it's so cool!
Mackenzie 113 by you.

Then Uncle Don opened one of his presents from us and you would have thought it was a toy for you. You wanted it so darn bad!

And here you are with your Mimi...

Daddy or Tessa took over the camera at some point, so I didn't get a bunch of pictures. Mimi got you some cool Melissa & Doug puzzles and some Bright books. The Bright books came in a set and they're awesome! There's one that has toys to chew on (which is a huge hit since you're teething!!) and there's another one that can go in the bathtub with you!

Christmas Eve morning with Grandma & Grandpa!

They were so tickled to have you there Christmas Eve morning! They've been so excited for Christmas to come, so they could watch you open presents. When they found out they got to do it on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning they were beyond thrilled!

So...as usual whenever you wake up I always take you in to their room because Grandma is waiting for you. She loves for you to get up in bed with her and cuddle. It's something you've both come to expect! The minute I put you in bed she told Grandpa to go get you some presents to open. Can you tell she was so excited it was time to finally open some presents...haha!

Yippeeee! Presents!!!!

Oh yummy! (You're obsessed with bows, ribbons, etc)
Mackenzie 031 by you.

They decided to let you open your stocking early....

You were too cool to sit up, so you could open your presents. You decided to lounge on me ;)
Mackenzie 045 by you.

They got you an angel bracelet from James Avery with your name engraved on it. That way you'll always have angels watching over you.
Mackenzie 056 by you.

Sometimes I wonder if you know what I'm saying. You started flinging your arms around and I told you to be careful or you'd lose your bracelet. Then you put your arms down and got this serious look on your face! haha!
Mackenzie 065 by you.

They also got you the earrings that match the bracelet...

After you finished opening your presents you played with Grandpa! You love to play with him. He's such a silly guy!!!

Christmas lights...

We've been wanting to take you somewhere to look at lights, but it just hasn't happened yet. Daddy was really busy with work on Tuesday, so he said we should go to Grandma and Grandpa's. That way the house would be quiet and he could get a lot of work done. SO...I packed our bags and we headed over there. On the way to dinner Grandma mentioned that one of their friends had their house all decorated and that we should go by there. It sounded like the perfect idea since I knew you would love the lights.

Not only did he have it all decorated with lights and a Santa statue, but there was also music. You LOVED it! Well...everything except for the Santa. You weren't so sure about him and you really tried to keep an eye on him ;)

You're mobile now...

As you can see I'm playing catch up today. Everything I've written today has happened in the last week or so.

So...I was on the phone with Grandma the morning of the 23rd. All of a sudden I see you crawling. You didn't just bolt across the floor obviously, but you took a couple crawls (is that what you call them? haha!). Your Dad woke up a little later and I told him about it. He couldn't believe it, so he tried to get you to crawl to him. This time I had a camera ready :) You still only took 2 little crawls, but it was something...

The presents started rolling in...

Last weekend we got your gifts from Cousin Sophia. Grandma & Grandpa came over for lunch, so I decided to let you open them while they were here.

The first thing we opened was a handmade cloth ball that had a bell inside. You loved it! I kept rolling it to you and you would giggle and giggle! You thought it was so much fun!!!
Mackenzie 087 by you.

I forgot to get a picture of you with the other thing, but you can sort of see it here in this picture. It's a little square blanket with ribbons on it. YOu're obsessed with tags, so I'm hoping you'll learn to play with this instead of the tags on all of your toys...haha!
Mackenzie 075 by you.

You wanted that ball so bad, but it kept running away ;)

Thank you Sophia (and Auntie Jeamie) for the wonderful toys!!!

Sadly...while you were trying to get to the ball you realized the tree could actually be touched! haha! You were in awe of the ornaments...
Mackenzie 069 by you.

I guess you needed a closer look ;)
Mackenzie 071 by you.

When I told you to be careful you started going for other ones. I guess you were thinking you didn't have to be careful with those... haha!

Daddy's Christmas wish came true!

Since you were born Daddy has been telling anyone that would listen that YOU wanted a big screen TV for Christmas. He said you wouldn't know any better since you were so little, so you might as well get nothing else but that for Christmas. I thought that was hilarious of him! Trying to take advantage of his sweet baby girl in order to get a TV! Sheesh!

Well... someone listened! This is what showed up on our door Saturday morning!
Mackenzie 020 by you.

Thank you Mom and Dad for the wonderful gift! As you know, we love it and it will definitely get used!!

Merry Christmas Sissy!

Sissy (aka Lauren) was going to be in NY for Christmas, so we decided to celebrate it with her early. We headed over to Grandma's house for yummy food and time with the family.

Trying to stand with Grandpa...

Grandpa being silly!! Grandma asked Grandpa to pull up your dress a little bit, so she could see the top of your babylegs, He lifted your entire dress up over your face. Crazy Grandpa!
