Having fun with Grandma...

We had a long day of wrapping with Grandma ahead of us! She got out the Santa hats to get her in the mood...haha! You looked so darn cute in yours ;)

Hey Grandpa! Why don't you go get me a Santa hat that fits, so I don't look so silly?!?!

Later we had to go get some more Christmas presents (the list seems to be never ending!), so here are a few of you guys before we headed out!

And here's an extra one just because I'm curious. Does anyone see the resemblance between these 2? Everyone that meets you when your Grandma is around says you look like her. I'm kind of curious if there are other people out there that think that...

Your first encounter with Santa...

Well these aren't your professional Santa pictures (we'll take those in December sometime), but here's your first encounter with the strange guy.

We went to Allen on Saturday night for the Christmas tree lighting and Santa's arrival. It was absolutely insane there! I just laughed and told Grandma & Grandpa there was no way I was waiting in that line, so you could see Santa. You are too young to know who he is, so I thought we should grab dinner and do this another night. We get back in the car, drive around the parking lot to park by Nates, and sure enough Santa is hanging out by the firetruck he's going to drive in on. Grandma jumps out of the car and runs over to him - asking if he'd take a picture with you since there are so many people waiting for him on the other side. He was a very nice Santa and said of course!
There's so much dead space in the picture, but I had to include it. I love it because you and Grandpa were walking up to the area where everyone was waiting for Santa. You would look at all the people and then look back at me and Grandma. It was as if you were trying to warn us that what was ahead was just way too much for you to handle...haha!

You and Grandpa - all bundled up!

Here you are trying to figure out exactly who this guy is walking up to you...

Here you are with Grandma & Grandpa. You can tell you're wondering who in the heck that strange looking guy is...

When we first walked up I told Grandpa to hand you over to Santa. Santa said "I wouldn't do that. She's going to scream." So we took a picture of the 4 of you. I really wanted one of you and Santa though, so at the end I told Grandpa to hold you over. He barely had his hands off of you for 1 second and you just totally lost it. You wanted absolutely nothing to do with Santa! NOTHING!

My how he loves you!!

We all knew Grandpa adored the idea of you before you were born, but I don't think any of us realized just how much we would love you once you got here. He lights up the minute he sees your face. He sends me text messages to check in on you during the day. He runs out to the car to get you the minute I pull up to their house. He is head over heels in love with you!

Here you guys are playing with your toys at their house before they left for TN.

It's too bad I wasn't filming it because what you can't see on this picture is that he was trying to show you how to play with your toy. Well...you're a big girl, so you already know how to do that. You were pushing his hand out of the way, so you could do it yourself....haha!

Bring me my coffee!

You love to hang out in your Daddy's office. He decided to sit you in his chair and see what you would do. I could have told him that... You went straight for the laptop (your 2nd favorite thing next to my cell phone!). Thankfully he was smart enough to move it out of your reach since he had important work stuff up on the screen! I bet his boss wouldn't believe him if he told her you lost everything he was working on...haha!

The best thing is you would look at us, reach for the laptop, then bang your hands down on the desk. Your Daddy said you were trying to tell us to get you your coffee!!

I guess you gave up on us and decided you'd just eat the desk ;)

*Excuse the poor quality pictures. They were taken with my cell phone.*

Dinner with Mimi...

Mimi had a work event going on at a hotel in Addison, so we drove down and met her for dinner. It was past your bedtime, but you were a trooper. It took all 3 of us to keep you occupied, but I think it was still worth it to your Mimi! She loves you oh so much and loves to spend time with you.

A day at the park...

Lisa and I had the bright idea to take you and E to the park. We grabbed some lunch and headed over to meet Desiree and Jackson.

As we pulled in to the parking lot the wind picked up and it got pretty darn cold. We were already there though, so we decided to give it a chance. It was a joke! You and E were fussy because it was windy and cold. Lisa and I couldn't eat because sand was blowing in to our food.

And to make matters worse 2 bus loads of 3rd graders showed up and took over the playground!

Here are some pictures though, so you can't ever say I didn't try... haha!

Getting you ready to brave the cold!

You and Desiree :)

Jackson playing...

Lisa trying to eat...

Your first cell phone...

You are so obsessed with my cell phone it's not even funny. If it was cheap I might not mind that you wanted it so bad. BUT...it's not! We decided to get out one of my old cell phones to see if we could trick you. We charged it up and handed it over. You were delighted! It lights up & makes noise when you push the buttons. What more could a girl ask for :)

Now lets just hope you don't somehow dial 911!!

Oh Daddy! Is that for me?

Yipppeee!!

OK! I'm done with you people now. Leave me alone to talk to my friends ;)

You just love your Daddy!

You were being so fussy last Sunday night - about an hour before your bedtime. Normally all you want is Mommy when you're being like that, but I really needed to get dinner started because I was starving. I handed you over to your Daddy and after some fighting you finally decided to lay down. Within minutes you were fast asleep on him. I had to go get a camera because you two looked so darn cute!!

I can't wait to see how you and your Daddy are as you get older :)

Your first rescue event...

Mommy volunteers for Central Texas Dachshund Rescue and we had a fundraising event on Saturday. Auntie Courtney was driving down for it and wanted to know if we could come and help. I figured now was as good of a time as any to get you started, so I said yes.

Thankfully Grandma tagged along with us, so there was an extra pair of hands to help out with you. You were such a trooper. We were in the car driving for over 4 hours and with the stop for dinner it was a long night for you. You weren't sure what was going on and didn't want to go to sleep once we got to the hotel, but such is life. I paced the floor with you in the dark (since Grandma & Courtney were trying to sleep) and finally around 1:00 - 1:30ish you fell asleep! Too bad you decided to wake up at 5:30! UGH!

It was a long day at the event, but you did much better then I thought you would. Everyone thought you were a doll and you loved all the extra attention!

You got to wear your new sweater romper that I got you at Gap on Thursday. You looked so darn cute! I want to buy you a hundred more of them...haha!

We stopped for dinner at Cracker Barrell in Waco and Grandma bought you this sock monkey. You absolutely loved it and you kept smiling with during dinner. I didn't have my camera with me, so I took it with my phone :)

Here you are bright eyed and bushy tailed at midnight in the hotel room! I knew I was in trouble right about now...

Hanging out with Auntie Courtney after you got your jammies on...

Hanging out in your adorable outfit at the event!

Sitting at the raffle ticket table with Mommy...

Relaxing in your sling with Grandma :)

My how you've grown...

I've been taking pictures of you and your Cabbage Patch doll (she's a bigger then normal C.P. - something they did for their anniversary a few years ago) since you were born. It's amazing to see how much you've changed.

Here you are at 10 days old...

And here you are at 8 months old...

These pictures are getting harder and harder though because you want to play with the doll instead of just laying there and letting us take a picture! haha!

Has it really been 8 months already?!?

I don't understand how time flies by so fast. I was just sitting here looking at pictures from the day you were born. Your Dad and I were so happy that you made it in to this world safe and sound. It was such a long pregnancy filled with so much worry about your safe arrival. I was so happy and relieved when they placed you in my arms. You can see from the picture below that I didn't even look up at the camera because I was too busy looking at you. My precious angel sent to me from up above! I never realized I could love something so much.

Here you are this morning! You've been having some intestinal issues again, so we were off to get you something to make you feel better. It was drizzling outside, so I put your hood on and you just loved it. You left it on all morning :)
You have developed quite the personality lately and we're enjoying it so much. You've started saying Dada and we think you finally know what you're actually saying. Before you would just say dadadadada with no rhyme or reason behind it, but now you seem to say it when your "Dada" is around. You love to repeat it after one of us and you just giggle and giggle. Sometimes I'll ask you where Dada is when I know he's not in the room with us and you lean forward and look around. It's about as cute as cute can get. The only thing cuter would be to see you do it for your Mama...haha!
You're obsessed with the animals and you would do anything to get closer to them. You can see how bad you want to crawl when one of them is near. You'll pull on me so hard to try and get closer. I'm sure they're all happy that you can't crawl. They'll be in trouble when you can ;) Oreo is in for the most trouble. He has the easiest coat of hair for you to grab on to and boy do you love it. Part of me thinks he must enjoy your attention or he would run away after you grab him the first time! Piper still adores you and loves to guard you. Harley is pretty low key, but he definitely loves you! I think you get the biggest kick out of Texas though. When he enters the room you just giggle until you can't giggle anymore. He loves to come right up to your face and you just get so excited. Your arms start going a mile and minute and your not sure whether to let him slime your entire face or turn away and save yourself from all that drool!! I can't wait until you're bigger and you can actually play with him. But...then we'll have to explain to you that he's a dog and not a horse. I can already hear you asking to ride him...hahahaha!
One of these days I'm going to get around to sending in your pictures to a modeling agency. So many people tell me you should be a model when we're out and about. I figured it doesn't hurt to try. We'll see how that goes. I need to take a couple of pictures specifically for this. I've heard everything under the sun as far as what to (or not to) send. I figured it was easier to just take specific pictures meant just for this :)
I have no idea what your stats are since you haven't been to the doctor in 2 months. I'd have to guess you're somewhere around 19 lbs and probably 27 inches long (you were 17 lbs and 26 inches at your 6 mo appt).
Happy 8 month birthday my little monkey butt! Your Mommy and Daddy love you very much!

The cutest hat...

I just LOVE this hat!! I bought this when I was pregnant with you. It was one of our shopping dates at Northpark with Auntie Nyn and Sharon. We went in to Planet Funk as usual and when I saw this hat there was no passing it up. The stripes, pompoms, and best of all...the skull! Who could ask for more?

What I couldn't imagine was just how cute you would look in it :)

A day of sewing...

A while ago Lisa and I ordered a bunch of fabric to make dresses for you girls. We finally got around to making one yesterday ;)

Her and Baby E came over for the day. It was so nice to have a playmate for you in the house. You loved having the company. You girls are too cute together. I can't wait until you're both running around with each other and can really play!

One day I'll be able to crawl. Until then I'll just pull you back over ;)

Little buddies...

Sweet Pea E playing in your pettiskirt. I just love this picture!

And your finished dress! Thank you Lisa for all of your help! There's no way I could have done this without you!!

I'll get a picture of her wearing it tomorrow, but for now she's fast asleep in bed :)

The 44th President of the United States is Barack Obama

A 47-year-old first-term senator from Illinois, shattered more than 200 years of history Tuesday night by winning the election as the first African-American president of the United States.

“If there is anyone out there who doubts that America is a place where anything is possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer,” Obama declared.

“Young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of red states and blue states,” he said. “We have been and always will be the United States of America.

“It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America,” he said to a long roar.

History will be made today...

November 4, 2008 - Election Day

No matter which way you look at it history will be made today! One of these first will happen: an African American will become the President of the United States OR there will be a female Vice President. I figured I should document this day for you because I'm sure one day you'll be reading about it in history books.

Republican ticket: John McCain and Sarah Palin
Democratic ticket: Barack Obama and Joe Biden

Our polling place was just a few blocks away from the house, so we decided to walk there. You love to be outside, so it was the perfect excuse to take you for a walk.

Of course they couldn't resist the cute baby, so they gave you a sticker too! One day your vote will count! Don't ever forget that :)

You were so tired from the walk that you passed out in your stroller.

The nap didn't last long though, because I wanted a picture of you and Daddy in your stickers!

You loved your sticker, so I left it on you until nap time.

Raspberries....

All of a sudden over the weekend you became obsessed with blowing raspberries. It started off with you doing it on my arm. That was funny enough, but then Sunday rolled around. After Courtney and Adam left you were sitting on the couch with your Daddy. He was playing video games and you lunged for his controller as usual. You ended up on your tummy, so Daddy was trying to bribe you with the controller to see if you would try and crawl to him. You decided that was not what you were interested in and you just laid your face right on the leather. All of a sudden we hear this blowing noise. We both looked at you and busted out laughing! You were blowing raspberries on the couch! You did it for like 10-15 minutes. Daddy video taped it (I know...for once we remembered to go grab the video camera), so if he ever gets it off of the camera I'll post it on here!!

Little Ms. Raspberry... haha!

Wee! This is fun :)

You can't see it too great in this picture, but the couch was covered in saliva and so was your face. It looked like Tex had just slimed you!

It's Christmas time...

Well it was for a day at least...hee hee!

I wanted a picture of you in your pettiskirt for our Christmas card pictures. I could easily take the picture myself, but I knew it would be much cuter if a professional took it :) Grandma and Grandpa offered to pay for a setting with Chera (http://www.chera25.com/), so I obviously jumped on the offer!! It was going to be just you, but Daddy decided he would go with us. Then at the last minute Grandma and Grandpa's plans fell through so they joined us also. It was nice to have everyone together because you get such a kick out of everyone making silly faces at you!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures....

Kisses and kisses...oh my!

Me, you, and Daddy

Don't kiss me Daddy. My friends are watching!

You, Grandma, and Grandpa

I love how you look like a little froggy here :)

As Auntie Brandy would say.... "Man that skirt is poofy!"

I love this picture of us! I just wish you and Daddy weren't both in white. It was in between outfits, so we had just taken your pettiskirt off.

3 generations! Daddy says you have your seductive look on here! haha!

This is your new favorite face! It totally cracks us up :)

There are 2 adorable pictures that I'm not posting on here because I'm trying to decide which one to use for our Christmas cards. Once I decide maybe I'll post the one I don't use :)
